Stop what you’re doing! Head over to rock city Pizza, the best pizza in all of Colorado. I know that’s a Big statement and I don’t take it lightly coming from Boston. It’s taken 8 years and a lot of pizza shop tastings to say this. We stopped in after seeing some great reviews and boy were we surprised. The reviews were excellent however, the pizza is even better. It’s located in a strip mall run and owned by a chef named Jason. This is his first pizza store yet I can see this opening everywhere. The sauce is exceptional very tasty and the ingredients are top notch. He doesn’t skimp on cheap ingredients the pepperoni is some of the best pepperoni meat I’ve ever had on a pizza. Jason showed us the mushrooms he uses on the pizza and they are farm to table lions head and other artisan shrooms. If you like Detroit style pizza, this is what he makes and his crust is the best …exceptionally crispy and tasty. Find your way here and you won’t be disappointed. We will be making the trip from Boulder often. Kudos to having the best pizza in Colorado!

Man…I lived in NYC for 14 years and I found my favorite slice of pizza in Broomfield, CO. It’s Detroit style but has that Sicilian/Grandma slice perfect crunch to dough ratio. Don’t pass this place by and worth the trip from anywhere in the Denver area.

I'd never had Detroit style pizza before. The crust was thick and flavorful! I loved the crispy edges. I ordered the Calabrian, which was loaded with several kinds of meat and cheese. Topped off with jalapenos, this was one of the best meat and "spicy" pizzas I've ever had. Everything was well balanced, it wasn't too much. I also ordered an appetizer, the Arancini Spinach and Ricotta. This was fried Italian rice balls stuffed with spinach and cheese, they were very good and I highly recommend you try them. Lastly, I had to FORCE myself to stop eating pizza (there was so much) in order to save room for the Italian ice. Even though I was getting stuffed, the grape ice was the perfect after dinner treat. Not too sweet, not heavy, the ice melted in my mouth! The staff were super friendly and the dinning area was cozy (it is small). Drinks were bottled water and canned sodas/juice. This place is very popular! I dined in and while I was there many people stopped in for a to-go order. Some people came in just for the Italian ice, which I totally understand because it's really good. I really liked being able to sit and watch the kitchen and see them make the pizza. Very old-school and very cool. The pizza was amazing and the Italian ice was just as good, so I will definitely be coming back to try all the other variety of pizza and ice.
